Job summary

Blackburn Group on the Gold Coast seeks an experienced Site Supervisor for a live commercial refurbishment project. You will manage day‑to‑day site operations from 6:30am, including coordinating trades and deliveries, with occasional Saturdays as required.

You will drive subcontractors to hit dates, identify issues early, and ensure WHS compliance. The role requires a proven track record in commercial construction and a white card with a QBCC Site Supervisor licence.

• Proven experience supervising commercial construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Full day‑to‑day management of the site: programme, trades, deliveries and site presentation.
• Coordinating and driving subcontractors to hit dates.
• Proactively identifying issues, raising them early and resolving them before they become problems.
• Daily site walk‑throughs, defect and quality checks, and keeping the site clean, safe and compliant.
• Managing WHS on site including toolbox talks, permits, SWMS review and hazardous materials protocols.
• Clear daily communication with the Project Director on progress and blockers.

Site Supervisor — Commercial Fit-Out & Refurbishment

About the role

We're looking for an experienced Site Supervisor to take day‑to‑day ownership of a live commercial refurbishment project. You'll be on site full‑time from 6.30am through to site close, with occasional Saturdays as required, running the site as if it were your own — not waiting to be asked.

What you'll be doing

• Full day‑to‑day management of the site: programme, trades, deliveries and site presentation
• Coordinating and driving subcontractors to hit dates
• Proactively identifying issues, raising them early and closing them out — you chase the answer before it becomes a problem
• Daily site walk‑throughs, defect and quality checks, and keeping the site clean, safe and compliant
• Managing WHS on site including toolbox talks, permits, SWMS review and hazardous materials protocols
• Clear daily communication with the Project Director on progress, blockers and lookaheads

What we're looking for

Must have:

• White Card
• QBCC Site Supervisor licence
• Proven experience supervising commercial construction projects

Also looking for:

• 3+ years site supervision experience on commercial fit‑out, refurbishment or new build projects
• Trade background preferred (carpentry or similar)
• Strong subcontractor coordination — you exhaust your own contacts and options before escalating
• Working knowledge of QLD WHS requirements; experience on sites with asbestos removal highly regarded
• Current driver's licence and own reliable transport
• Organised, accountable and comfortable being the one who owns the site day to day
