Job summary

Dematic is seeking an experienced Site Supervisor to join the Melbourne Project Delivery team. You will coordinate installation, commissioning and engineering activities on site for large-scale warehouse automation projects, working closely with clients and contractors. The role is an 18-month fixed-term contract with potential extension.

The successful candidate will lead on-site teams, ensure safety and quality, and drive timely project delivery in a dynamic, global logistics solutions company.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Site Supervisor/Manager on large capital projects (on-site).
• Mechanical and/or Electrical trade background.
• WHSE knowledge and safety management.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Willingness to travel interstate and overseas (APAC region).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review drawings for mechanical and electrical installations.
• Liaise with clients, builders and sub-contractors.
• Promote safety, risk identification and safety management (OHSE).
• Obtain necessary materials and resources.
• Organise and supervise inspection and maintenance of installed equipment.
• Day to day management of sub-contractors.
• Coordinate regular inspection of works for quality assurance.
• Implement commissioning.
• Ensure safe installation procedures.

THE OPPORTUNITY

With a strong pipeline of exciting projects, Dematic is seeking an experienced and driven Site Supervisor to join our Project Delivery team in Melbourne. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in the successful delivery of large-scale warehouse automation projects for leading customers.

This is an 18-month full time fixed term contract position (with the possibility to extend) that is responsible for coordinating installation, commissioning, and engineering activities on site, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will be at the heart of bringing complex automation systems into full production, working closely with internal teams, contractors, and clients.

WHAT YOU WILL BE WORKING ON

• Preparing and reviewing drawings and plans for mechanical and electrical installations
• Liaising with clients, direct builders and sub-contractors
• Proactively promoting innovation, improvement, risk identification and safety management covering Occupational Health, Safety and the Environment
• Obtaining necessary materials and resources
• Organising and supervising the inspection and maintenance of the installed equipment
• Day to day management of sub-contractors
• Coordinating regular inspection of works for quality assurance
• Implement commissioning
• Ensuring safe installation procedures

Tasks and Qualifications:

SETTING YOU UP FOR SUCCESS REQUIRES

• 5+ years of experience as a Site Supervisor/Manager installing large capital projects
• Mechanical and/or Electrical trade background
• Technical knowledge of material handling equipment would be an advantage
• Thorough knowledge of WHSE requirements
• Strong and clear communication skills
• Proven team leadership skills
• Strong computer skills in MS office products
• Availability to travel interstate and overseas (APAC region) when required
