Job summary

Dematic in Melbourne is seeking an experienced Site Supervisor for its Project Delivery team to oversee the installation, commissioning and on-site engineering activities on large capital projects.

This 18-month full-time fixed-term contract requires coordinating safe, timely delivery within budget, liaising with clients and subcontractors, and leading a collaborative team in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience as Site Supervisor/Manager on large capital installations.
• Mechanical and/or electrical trade background.
• Knowledge of material handling equipment is an advantage.
• Thorough knowledge of WHSE requirements.
• Strong communication and team leadership skills.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Willingness to travel interstate and overseas (APAC).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review drawings and plans for mechanical and electrical installations.
• Liaise with clients, builders and subcontractors.
• Promote safety management and risk identification.
• Procure materials and resources.
• Supervise inspection and maintenance of installed equipment.
• Manage subcontractors day-to-day.
• Coordinate regular quality inspections.
• Implement commissioning.
• Ensure safe installation procedures.

The Opportunity

With a strong pipeline of exciting projects, Dematic is seeking an experienced and driven Site Supervisor for its Project Delivery team in Melbourne. This is an 18‑month full‑time fixed‑term contract position (with the possibility to extend) that is responsible for coordinating installation, commissioning, and engineering activities on site, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

What You Will Be Working On

• Preparing and reviewing drawings and plans for mechanical and electrical installations
• Liaising with clients, direct builders and sub‑contractors
• Proactively promoting innovation, improvement, risk identification and safety management covering Occupational Health, Safety and the Environment
• Obtaining necessary materials and resources
• Organising and supervising the inspection and maintenance of the installed equipment
• Day‑to‑day management of sub‑contractors
• Coordinating regular inspection of works for quality assurance
• Implementing commissioning
• Ensuring safe installation procedures

Tasks and Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Site Supervisor/Manager installing large capital projects
• Mechanical and/or Electrical trade background
• Technical knowledge of material handling equipment would be an advantage
