Job summary

HEH Civil is seeking an experienced Site Supervisor to join our Cairns-based team and help deliver civil construction projects across Far North Queensland.

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will lead daily site activities, coordinate crews and subcontractors, manage plant and materials, and keep works moving safely, efficiently and to the required standard. This hands‑on role demands strong leadership and excellent communication to drive projects on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Must have prior site supervision experience in civil construction.
• Lead crews, subcontractors and suppliers to meet safety, quality and schedule.
• Read drawings and project docs; identify and resolve site issues.
• Maintain WHS standards and environmental requirements.
• Coordinate plant, materials and site access daily.
• Strong communication and teamwork on site.

About the role

This role suits someone who is hands‐on, organised and confident leading teams on civil construction projects.

What you'll be doing

• Lead and supervise site crews, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Plan daily works and coordinate labour, plant, materials and site access.
• Work closely with the Project Manager to keep projects on track for safety, quality, budget and program.
• Read and interpret drawings, specifications and project documentation.
• Identify and resolve site issues early, with a practical and solutions‑focused approach.
• Promote safe work practices and maintain strong communication across the site team.

What we're looking for

• Previous experience as a Site Supervisor within civil construction.
• Strong experience in bulk earthworks, roadworks, drainage, pipelaying or similar civil works.
• Experience working with TMR, local government or Tier 1 clients will be highly regarded.
• Confidence coordinating crews, subcontractors, plant and materials.
• Sound understanding of WHS, quality and environmental requirements on civil construction sites.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build good working relationships on site.
• A current driver licence and relevant construction industry tickets or licences.
