SHAPE Australia is seeking a Site Manager to lead safe, high-quality, programme-driven delivery on Newcastle projects, coordinating trades from mobilisation to handover and driving look-ahead planning.

You’ll bring 5+ years of commercial construction on $10M+ jobs, a trade qualification and White Card/Senior First Aid, plus Procore and MS Office proficiency, with a collaborative leadership style focused on safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of commercial construction experience on projects worth $10M+
• Trade-qualified construction leader with White Card and Senior First Aid
• Current driver’s licence and a construction management qualification
• Strong knowledge of construction documentation, site logistics, trade coordination and IR
• Proficient with Procore and MS Office for site records and reporting
• Collaborative, decisive leadership style focused on safety, quality and programme

Responsibilities

• Support the Senior Site Manager with day-to-day site operations, including establishment, logistics, access, deliveries and trade coordination
• Implement site safety systems, inductions, risk controls, inspections and site rules
• Drive weekly and two-week look-ahead programmes with project teams and subcontractors
• Monitor progress against programme, identify risks early and lead recovery actions
• Coordinate works to drawings, specifications and SHAPE standards
• Manage buildability, inspections, defects and protection of completed works

You’ll play a key role in

As a Site Manager, you’ll lead safe, high-quality and programme-driven site delivery across our Newcastle new build projects. Our next project is a $35M new build project starting up in Cardiff soon. From mobilisation through to handover, you’ll coordinate trades, manage critical activities and create the conditions for exceptional project outcomes.

Key responsibilities:

• Supporting the Senior Site Manager with day-to-day site operations, including establishment, logistics, access, deliveries and trade coordination
• Implement site safety systems, inductions, risk controls, inspections and site rules
• Drive weekly and two-week look-ahead programmes with project teams and subcontractors
• Monitor progress against programme, identify risks early and lead practical recovery actions
• Coordinate works to approved drawings, specifications, quality standards and SHAPE systems
• Manage buildability, inspections, defects, rectification and protection of completed works

What you’ll bring:

You are a trade-qualified construction leader who brings energy, accountability and sound site judgement. You build strong relationships while confidently holding delivery partners to high standards of safety, quality and programme performance.

• Five or more years’ commercial construction experience on new build projects valued at $10 million or more
• Proven experience managing civil works, piling, structures, façades, internal works, commissioning and handover
• Current White Card, Senior First Aid, driver's licence and a building trade or construction management qualification
• Strong knowledge of construction documentation, site logistics, trade coordination and industrial relations
• Confidence using Procore and Microsoft Office to maintain site records and reporting
• A collaborative, respectful leadership style that brings out the best in people and project teams.
