Job summary

iEDM is seeking a Site Manager to join our team on the Avalon Australian International Airshow in Geelong. This hands-on role requires active on-site presence across build activities, coordinating contractors and suppliers, and ensuring safety and readiness targets are met.

You’ll work with project managers to maintain progress, manage risks, and support demobilisation while thriving in a fast-paced, autonomous environment.

Site Manager - Avalon Australian International Airshow

We're looking for a Site Manager to join the iEDM team on the ground in Geelong for the Avalon Australian International Airshow — one of Australia's largest and most prestigious aviation events.

This is a hands‑on, site‑based role. You'll be an active presence across the build, supporting project managers to keep contractors and suppliers on track, identifying safety risks before they become issues, and making sure infrastructure is installed, operational, and removed to schedule.

The pace is fast and the environment is dynamic. We need someone who works well without close supervision, stays composed under pressure, and gets things done.

Key Responsibilities

Provide on‑ground support to Project Managers in managing their contractors and suppliers to ensure infrastructure and overlay are installed, operational, maintained, and removed according to predetermined readiness and hand‑back dates.

Be an active presence across the event build site, identifying safety concerns and risk issues that may require intervention or control.

Review the progress of the project on site, reporting areas of concern.

Coordinate receipt of goods, materials, and service on site as required.

Coordinate and oversee signage requirements for the construction and demobilisation periods.

Support the delivery of the Internal Traffic Management Plan.

Attend and contribute to weekly Contractor Safety Meetings.

Coordinate and support underground service locating with the relevant supplier.

Supervise the event labour supplier's scope of work and sundry other specific contractors works on site as agreed.

Experience working within a major event highly in a site‑based role highly desirable.

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

Capable of thriving in a fast‑paced and time‑sensitive environment while maintaining composure and effectiveness.

Strong problem‑solving skills with a solution‑oriented mindset.

Work independently in the absence of direct supervision.

Maintain a flexible work schedule that includes overtime, on‑call and weekend availability.

Construction Induction Card & Valid Driver’s license.
