Job summary

Queensland Corrective Services seeks a skilled Team Leader to manage Sentence & Case Management Services staff at a correctional location, overseeing assessment and reporting of risk as it relates to case management, as well as classification and placement decisions and capacity utilisation.

The role requires leading a multidisciplinary team, applying legislation and policy in operations, and utilising evidence-based offender management practices to protect community safety.

Qualifications

• Leadership of a multidisciplinary team with the ability to develop and monitor performance.
• Interpret and apply legislation, policy and procedures in an operational environment.
• Evidence-based offender management and behavioural change practices with a strong commitment to community safety.
• Superior communication skills both written and verbal with high attention to detail.
• Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander issues.
• Build and manage strong relationships with peers, team members and stakeholders.

In this role you will have overall responsibility for the management of Sentence & Case Management Services staff at a given correctional location. They oversee all sentence and case management functions including the assessment and reporting of risk as it relates to case management functions, as well as classification and placement decisions, lawful detention and capacity utilisation.

Requirements

The most suitable applicant will demonstrate their applied knowledge, skills and experiences against these essential role requirements of the Team Leader leadership stream:

• Leadership of a multidisciplinary team with the ability to develop and monitor performance and guide staff through change
• Proven experience in the human services field including the interpretation and application of legislation, policy and procedures in an operational environment
• High level knowledge of contemporary evidence-based offender management and behavioural change practices with a strong commitment to protecting community safety
• Superior communication skills (written and verbal) with high attention to detail and accuracy
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander issues
• Proven ability to build and manage strong relationships with peers, team members, internal and external stakeholders
