About the Role
Due to ongoing business expansion, we are looking for a driven, hands‑on Site Manager to lead the day‑to‑day delivery of our construction projects across Victoria. Trusted since the early 2000’s, our business specialises in complex commercial builds, heritage restorations, and refurbishments.
You’ll be the person on the ground making it happen, coordinating trades, enforcing safety and quality standards, and keeping the program on track. Supported closely by an experienced Project Manager, this role offers true variety and autonomy, as well as combination of professionalism, good systems, and up‑to‑date safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Run daily site operations safely, strictly on program, and in line with project specifications and drawings.
- Lead, coordinate, and direct subcontractors, leading hands, carpenters, and direct labour to maintain site momentum.
- Take full ownership of site safety and compliance under OFSC standards, including daily pre‑starts, site inductions, SWMS reviews, and regular OHS inspections.
- Drive rigorous Quality Assurance (QA) processes from early works through to commissioning for defect‑free handovers.
- Maintain and update site management software (Procore) and daily site diaries, tracking project milestones, deliveries, and site progress.
- Coordinate closely with the Project Manager, consultants, and client representatives to resolve constructability issues and variations early.
- Mentor, support, and develop on‑site staff and apprentices to foster a collaborative, high‑performance site culture.
Required Experience & Skills
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in commercial construction as a Site Manager or Site Foreman.
- Proven track record delivering commercial construction, complex refurbishments, or heritage restoration projects.
- Solid trade background (carpentry or structural trade strongly regarded).
- Comprehensive knowledge of Victorian OHS legislation, Federal Safety Commissioner (OFSC) requirements, QA, and environmental standards.
- High software literacy with construction management platforms (Procore or similar) and Microsoft Office.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills to drive subcontractor accountability and site teamwork.
- Diploma of Building and Construction (or equivalent qualification) is an advantage.
- Current Victorian Driver’s Licence, reliable vehicle access, and a valid White Card.
