Job summary

OSL Consulting Engineers is seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead a manufacturing facility, overseeing safety, operations, and customer-focused performance.

You will manage a small team, drive production plans, and partner with engineering for equipment reliability while ensuring compliance and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Job description

We're recruiting on behalf of one of our clients who are a well-established manufacturing business. They are looking for an experienced Site Manager to lead the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of one of their manufacturing facilities.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll take ownership of site performance, health & safety, operational excellence, manage a small team including team development while ensuring production targets and customer expectations are consistently achieved.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all site health, safety, environmental, and quality activities.
• Drive operational performance in line with business objectives and production plans.
• Manage stock control, production scheduling, and resource allocation.
• Lead, motivate, and develop site teams to maintain high performance and compliance standards.
• Oversee maintenance activities and work closely with engineering teams to maximise equipment reliability.
• Champion continuous improvement, operational excellence, and cost efficiencies.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and management systems.
• Manage site budgets, vendor relationships, and operational reporting.
• Maintain robust emergency response, risk management, and business continuity plans.
• Collaborate with commercial and distribution teams to deliver excellent customer service.

About You

• Degree qualified in a technical discipline (or equivalent experience).
• Proven leadership experience within a manufacturing, chemical, or industrial environment.
• Strong understanding of health, safety, environmental, and quality management systems.
• Demonstrated success in operational management, team leadership, and continuous improvement.
• Able to work effectively under pressure, prioritise workloads, and deliver results.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Competent with Microsoft Office; ERP system experience is advantageous.
• Full UK driving licence required.
