Job summary

Fredon, an Australian-owned leader in electrical, cabling and air conditioning, is seeking a Site Manager to join the Fredon Air NSW Construction team in Canberra. You will oversee live projects, manage subcontractors, and ensure safety and quality across sites.

Key capabilities include reading construction drawings, strong client relationship skills, and the ability to coordinate with main contractors. The role requires autonomy, attention to detail, and effective communication to keep programs

Qualifications

  • 5 plus years’ experience as a Site Manager within construction or mechanical engineering preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver’s licence and white card
  • Eligible and prepared to undertake security clearances
  • First Aid training is advantageous but not essential
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Understanding of industry regulations
  • High attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team
  • Excellent client relationship skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Efficient in Microsoft software suite

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with client builder, subcontractors, suppliers and other stakeholders
  • Manage and schedule subcontractors to meet program deliverables, including workforce planning and resource allocation
  • Ensure all contractual obligations and scope of works are understood and met, while mitigating any risks to the project
  • Manage site logistics, including but not limited to site deliveries, crane management and bookings, horizontal transportation
  • Identify, report and assist in pricing on any variations to the contracted scope of works
  • Oversee productivity and monitor progress against the program, addressing and reporting any issues impacting cost, quality or time
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly project reports
  • Ensuring specification compliance, generating defects and NCR’s where applicable, including the closing out of any and all items
  • Implement the Project quality Plan, the Site safety Plan, conduct and report regular inspections
  • Address on-site issues promptly, collaborating with other trades and stakeholders to find solutions
  • Coordinate activities with main contractors, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure project continuity
  • Review, monitor and ensure compliance to SWMS
  • Complete site diary on a daily basis
  • Complete ITPs in line with site progress
  • Maintain accurate project documentation. Including as built drawings, equipment schedules and compliance records
  • Assist and manage commissioning activities
  • Attend site coordination meetings where required
  • Any other reasonable duties that may be required by Fredon

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and motivatedSite Managerto join the Fredon Air NSW Construction team on a full-time basis located in Canberra. Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing live projects across various locations.

The key accountabilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

Develop and maintain relationships with client builder, subcontractors, suppliers and other stakeholders

Manage and schedule subcontractors to meet program deliverables, including workforce planning and resource allocation

To be successful in this role, you will have the following skills and experience:
