Job summary

Fredon in Canberra seeks experienced Communication Technicians to join our Electrical team. You will work on Cat6A cabling projects and fibre optic cabling, including splicing and testing, with a strong focus on safety and quality.

You must be ACMA licensed with endorsements, hold a Construction White Card and license, and have 5+ years in the industry. We provide uniform and PPE and a team environment that supports development on landmark projects.

Qualifications

• ACMA licensed with endorsements required.
• 5+ years in the industry.
• White Card and driver license required.
• EWP high risk licence preferred.
• Experience on Cat6/6A patch panels and comms racks.

Responsibilities

• Install and commission Cat6/6A cabling and comms racks.
• Perform fibre optic splicing and testing with documented results.
• Conduct fault-finding and troubleshooting of networks.
• Maintain high safety, environmental and quality standards.
• Work autonomously and manage time effectively on projects.

We currently have exciting opportunities for enthusiastic and experienced Communication Technicians to join our growing Electrical team, located in Canberra.

What are we looking for?

Highly motivated and adaptable qualified communications technicians

Experience working on Cat6A cabling projects

Experience working with Fibre optical cabling, including splicing and testing

Fault-finding and testing experience

Excellent work ethic – continuing to build our reputation for excellence

Good attention to detail maintained when working to time constraints

Strong understanding of safety, environmental and quality systems.

Ability to work autonomously

Maintain a high level of commitment to safety during work tasks

What do I need?

ACMA Licensed with the relevant endorsements

5+ years' experience in the industry

Construction White Card and driver license

EWP high risk licence

Understanding of AS/CA S009/2020 and AS/CA S008:2020

Experience on Communication fit-out projects

Experience on Cat6/6A patch panel / comms rack fit off

Experience with Fibre Optic Splicing and Testing
