Job summary

Graymont (Australia) Pty Ltd is seeking an HSE Specialist based at the Galong quarry in NSW. You will provide day-to-day HSE leadership across quarrying and processing, ensuring regulatory compliance and driving continuous improvement.

The role sits on the Galong leadership team, collaborating with plant staff, contractors and regional HSE to apply safety and environmental management systems and foster a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV, Diploma or Degree in Work Health & Safety, Environmental Management or related discipline.
• Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a site-based HSE role within quarrying, mining, manufacturing, construction or heavy industry.
• Strong knowledge of NSW WHS legislation and environmental regulatory requirements.
• Experience conducting risk assessments, audits and incident investigations.
• Strong communication and influencing skills.
• Current Australian driver's licence.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day HSE leadership and support to site operations, employees and contractors.
• Promote and embed Graymont’s safety culture, Life Saving Rules and values.
• Act as the on-site HSE subject matter expert for systems, processes and standards.
• Facilitate safety and environmental risk management activities and controls.
• Support teams to maintain high housekeeping standards and complete corrective actions.
• Lead site inductions, toolbox talks and safety briefings.
• Monitor training, competency and certification requirements.
• Lead and support incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
