Job summary

Graymont is seeking a leader to oversee all quarry operations at Murgon Limestone quarry, about an hour west of Gympie, Queensland. You will ensure safe, efficient operation of mine, crushing, milling and screening, and deliver limestone products to specification.

You’ll lead and develop the mining and operations team, manage budget, engage stakeholders, and contribute to growth projects while maintaining strong community relations.

Qualifications

• Requires a QLD Site Senior Executive (SSE) notice (or equivalent).
• Willingness to operate mobile equipment and perform maintenance as needed.
• Driver’s license and right to work in Australia required (sponsorship possible).

Lead the limestone quarry operations (drill and blast, mining, crushing, milling, screening and dispatch) team and participate in development projects and growth-related initiatives at one of our key locations in QLD.

Our Role

Located at our Murgon Limestone quarry, an hour west of Gympie, Southeast Queensland. This position is responsible for overseeing all quarrying operations and ensuring the safety and efficient management of all activities carried out on site.

As the leader you will:

• Ensure safe and effective operation and maintenance of the mine, crushing, milling and screening operations.
• Maximize safe production to deliver required limestone products within specification.
• Lead and influence the performance of mining and operations team members, contractors and visitors.
• Contribute to growth projects.
• Manage the operating budget.
• Collaborate with and positively influence various internal and external stakeholders and maintain an effective relationship within the community.

We require a candidate who holds a QLD Site Senior Executive (SSE) notice (or similar from other States) for an operations management (superintendent) role. Desirable is previous industry experience in similar roles, experience with drilling and blasting, mobile heavy equipment operations, crushing and screening and plant and equipment maintenance is an advantage. Essential is a willingness to give hands on support through operation of mobile equipment and maintenance repairs as required. Driver’s license and right to work in Australia are essential (sponsorship arrangements can be considered).

The Company is also open to developing an experienced candidate who will be eligible to receive a QLD SSE notice.
