MAYDAY Recruitment Group is recruiting for a permanent full-time Mechanical Fitting role in Blacktown. You will perform mechanical maintenance, welding and fabrication on heavy fixed plant and mobile equipment within a busy industrial facility, applying fault finding and repairs from engineering drawings, in a dual-skilled capacity.

Day shift Mon-Fri 5am-3:30pm and Sat 5am-11am, six-day week with overtime. Earn around $53 per hour plus super, with long-term stability in a large heavy industrial

Qualifikationen

• Trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting.
• Experience welding and fabrication including MIG & STICK.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• High Risk tickets (Confined Space, WAH, EWP, Forklift) desirable.

The Company: This established heavy industrial company plays a key role in supplying essential materials into the construction, manufacturing and infrastructure sectors across NSW. Operating out of a large-scale processing facility in Blacktown, they offer stable long-term employment within a busy operation where maintenance reliability is critical to keeping production moving.

The site has a strong workshop culture with a large team of Fitters and Boilermakers onsite, supporting both workshop maintenance and production operations across the facility. It is a fast-paced environment with plenty happening day to day, a busy maintenance schedule and a genuinely good atmosphere across the team.

The Role

Working within the maintenance team, you'll be responsible for mechanical maintenance, welding, fabrication and repairs across heavy fixed plant and mobile equipment within a busy industrial processing facility.

This is a dual-skilled position requiring someone equally comfortable carrying out mechanical fitting duties and hands-on welding and fabrication work.

Day to day you will be involved in:

• Mechanical maintenance and repairs across heavy fixed plant and mobile equipment
• MIG and stick welding on heavy industrial machinery, structural components and equipment
• Fabrication, modification and repair of steel components and machinery
• Fault finding, servicing and preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment
• Repairing and replacing worn or damaged mechanical components
• Supporting shutdowns, breakdown response and reliability work
• Working from engineering drawings to complete fabrication and repair tasks
• Workshop-based repairs and onsite maintenance activities
• Working closely with operations and maintenance teams to minimise downtime

Requirements

• Trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting
• Strong hands-on experience across welding and fabrication including mig & stick
• Experience maintaining and repairing heavy industrial machinery and equipment
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• High Risk tickets such as Confined Space, WAH, EWP and Forklift highly desirable
