Qualifications

• Trade qualification in mechanical fitting, boilermaker or fabricator.
• 5+ years in industrial, manufacturing or engineering environments.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings; strong welding skills.

Job description

This is a hands-on role suited to a qualified tradesperson who is reliable and takes pride in their workmanship and is comfortable working across a variety of workshop and site-based projects. The successful applicant will be involved in a broad range of mechanical, fabrication, installation and maintenance work.

Key responsibilities

• Mechanical fitting, installation and maintenance
• General fabrication and metalworks
• MIG, TIG and stick welding as required
• Equipment installation and commissioning
• Machinery repairs and breakdown maintenance
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
• Site installation and modification works
• Measuring, cutting, fitting and assembling components
• Working independently and as part of a project team
• Machining skills on a manual lathe and manual milling machine

About you

• Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter, Boilermaker or Fabricator
• Minimum 5 years experience in industrial, manufacturing or engineering environments
• Strong mechanical knowledge and some fabrication skills
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Good welding ability both onsite and in the workshop
• Experience with machinery installation, maintenance and repairs
• Current driver's licence
• Construction Industry White Card
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
