Job summary

Amida Recruit AU partners with a market-leading civil contractor to recruit a Site Engineer or Project Engineer. Projects span from Newcastle to Muswellbrook, typically $2.5m to $40m+, including roadworks, demolition, and ground improvements.

You will plan and schedule construction activities, manage site teams safely, prepare management reports, and liaise with clients and stakeholders. A Civil Engineering degree and 5–10+ years’ civil project experience are required; PM qualifications are

Qualifications

• Bachelor/tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering.
• 5–10+ years’ management experience on civil construction projects valued between $2m and $40m+.
• Project management qualifications are advantageous.
• Hands-on understanding of construction with a practical, proactive approach.
• Proven ability to lead, delegate and solve problems.
• Strong client liaison and coordination abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and time management.

Great opportunity to work with a well-established and reputable civil contractor on projects such as civil, demolition, remedial, rehabilitation, excavation, crushing, recycling etc.

Our client is a well-established and market leading civil contractor, they are looking for an experienced and dedicated Site Engineer or Project Engineer to join their growing business.

Our client provides their services across a number of industry sectors such as building construction, industrial, mining and resources, power stations, transport infrastructure, environmental etc. and you will be responsible for contributing to the successful delivery of a number of challenging projects.

Types of projects include access roads, demolition, excavation, retention, ground improvement, soft and hard landscaping, site remediation and rehabilitation, recycling, crushing, piling, foundations etc.

The project works will primarily be of a civil nature with typical values from $2.5 to $10m but can go up to $40m+. Personnel could be based from Newcastle to Muswellbrook and would look to line up projects depending on where people live. Current project pipeline is West Newcastle, to Singleton to Muswellbrook.

Years of experience: 3-10 years +

• Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or similar
• 5 – 10+ years’ management experience on civil construction projects with a project value of $2m to $40m+
• Project management qualifications will be advantageous
• Proven understanding of construction with a hands‑on approach
• Proven ability to effectively lead and delegate
• Effective problem solving abilities
• Ability to resolve conflict and manage client expectations
• High level of organisation and time management skills
