Job summary

BESIX Watpac in Australia is seeking a hands-on Construction Engineer to lead safety compliance, coordinate engineering activities, and ensure projects are built to plans across stadiums, venues, and industrial sites.

You will interpret designs, contribute design improvements, manage tenders, and assist with site budgets and progress reporting, working closely with site and project managers to deliver on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Degree/Diploma in building/construction or related field.
• Ability to communicate, influence and build effective relationships at all levels.
• Autonomous with initiative, sound reasoning, listening and decision making skills.
• Ability to deliver results in a high pressure environment.
• Professionalism, maturity and candour in daily work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Proactively drive safety policies to provide a safe workplace.
• Ensure compliance with Quality, OH&S and Environmental Policies.
• Coordinate and administer construction engineering activities to align with plans, designs and specifications.
• Interpret designs for implementation in construction projects.
• Contribute to improvements to existing designs.
• Arrange and oversee the letting of tenders.
• Assist with preparation of site construction budgets and reports.
• Monitor construction progress and report to site or project manager and attend site meetings.
