Job summary

CGC Recruitment is seeking a Site Engineer to join a major defence base upgrade on a FIFO 2/1 roster. You will coordinate site engineering activities and support delivery from planning to handover.

You will work on concrete packages, with self-perform FRP experience, and report to a Senior Project Engineer; Australian citizenship is required. Flights from major Australian airports are available.

Qualifications

• 2+ years post-graduate civil/construction engineering experience.
• Experience delivering projects with self-perform FRP works.
• Background with Tier 2/3 contractor or specialist subcontractor.
• Must be an Australian citizen.

Major Defence Infrastructure Project | Concrete Specialist Contractor

A well-established specialist contractor with over 30 years of success delivering end-to-end concrete solutions is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join their team on a major defence base upgrade.

With a strong presence across civil, mining, commercial, and industrial sectors, this business has built a reputation for delivering high-quality concrete works across all stages of construction—from survey and set-out through to final place and finish.

The Opportunity

Following the recent award of a ~$40M concrete package on a large-scale defence project, the company is looking to appoint a Site Engineer on a full-time basis. This is a FIFO role on a family-friendly 2/1 roster, with flights available from any major Australian airport.

Reporting to a Senior Project Engineer, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of the project, supporting daily engineering operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage day-to-day site engineering activities
• Assist with planning, scheduling, and resource allocation
• Ensure QA/QC compliance and documentation is maintained
• Oversee subcontractor and self-perform concrete works
• Order concrete and materials
• Oversee concrete pours
• Contribute to project delivery from inception through to final handover

Project Scope

This project involves a comprehensive range of concrete works, including:

• Survey and set-out
• Reinforcing and formwork
• Tilt panels
• Airfield pavement concrete
• General concrete placement and finishing

About You

• Minimum2+ years post-graduate experience in civil/construction engineering
• Proven experience delivering projects withself-perform FRP works
• Background working with a Tier 2/3 contractor or specialist subcontractor
• Strong technical and coordination skills across concrete packages
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, site-based FIFO environment
• Commitment to seeing projects through to completion
• Must be an Australian Citizen
