Job summary

Sydney Earthworks is seeking a skilled Site Engineer based in Sydney with willingness to travel to regional and remote project locations across NSW. You will coordinate site engineering activities, review drawings and specs, and support project delivery with QA, cost control, and progress reporting.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree and a minimum of 3 years' experience in civil construction, including bulk earthworks, with a strong grasp of WHS standards and Australian regulations.

• Valid White Card.

With a growing pipeline of projects, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Site Engineer to join our team.

This role is primarily based in Sydney; however, applicants must be willing and available to travel to regional and remote project locations as required.

About the Role

As a Site Engineer, you will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing site engineering activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule and in accordance with project specifications.

You will work closely with Project Managers, Site Supervisors, subcontractors and clients to support the successful delivery of civil construction and earthworks projects.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate and manage day-to-day engineering activities across civil construction sites.

Interpret construction drawings, specifications and technical documentation.

Monitor project progress, budgets, schedules and productivity.

Assist with project planning, programming and resource allocation.

Manage quality assurance documentation, inspections, ITPs and compliance records.

Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, plant and site personnel.

Undertake site measurements, quantity calculations and progress reporting.

Assist with procurement, variations, claims and cost tracking.

Ensure construction activities comply with WHS requirements, relevant standards and project specifications.

Liaise with clients, consultants, surveyors and project stakeholders.

Identify and resolve technical and operational issues on site.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

A Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.

Minimum 3 years' experience in a Site Engineer role within civil construction.

Demonstrated experience in bulk earthworks, excavation, civil infrastructure or similar projects.

Strong understanding of construction methodologies, drawings and specifications.

Experience with quality assurance, project reporting and cost control.

Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently and effectively within a project team.

Strong knowledge of Australian construction standards and WHS requirements.

A valid White Card.

Willingness and availability to travel and work at regional or remote project locations when required.
