Job summary

ACCIONA is seeking a motivated Civil Engineer to join the Western Harbour Tunnel – Stage 2 delivery team in Australia. The role focuses on safety, quality, and sustainability, supporting major civil works, underground construction, and look-ahead planning.

You will manage documentation, permits, cost tracking, supplier interactions, and reporting while collaborating with clients and project teams to meet schedule and performance targets.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering.
• Experience in excavation or underground construction projects.
• Experience on major road/tunnel infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage safety, construction, and quality documentation (SWMS, ITPs, procedures, permits).
• Administer contract works ensuring compliance with Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards.
• Manage permits, approvals, and ensure daily site activities align with design and specifications.
• Support planning, execution, and handover of project deliverables within time, cost, and quality targets.
• Assist with procurement, purchase orders, and material traceability.
• Track costs, monitor productivity, and prepare accurate daily/weekly/monthly reports.
• Contribute to look-ahead planning, scheduling, and coordination with supervisors and project teams.
• Undertake audits, maintain registers, and ensure Quality Management System compliance.
• Record and report daily progress, delays, variations, and subcontractor activities.
• Participate in inductions, pre-start meetings, and promote company policies and code of conduct.

Job Description The Project ACCIONA has been selected to deliver Western Harbour Tunnel – Stage 2, Sydney’s third harbour crossing. The new Western Harbour Tunnel (WHT) will connect to WestConnex at the Rozelle Interchange, cross underneath Sydney Harbour between Birchgrove and Waverton, and connect with the Warringah Freeway near North Sydney. Project scope includes: Construction of approximately 4.8 kilometres of mainline tunnels with three lanes in each direction Civil, Mechanical and Electrical fitout of Stage 1 and Stage 2 tunnels Surface level work, including on and off ramps and tie-in work to the Warringah Freeway ACCIONA is seeking a motivated Civil Engineer to join our project delivery team.
