Job summary

Martinus is seeking a hands-on Site Engineer to join the delivery team on a major station development project in Brisbane. Based on site, you will provide day-to-day engineering support to ensure works are constructed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with design and specification.

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience in rail/major infrastructure construction.
• Knowledge of setout, QA, and construction methods.
• Rail safety accreditation RIW is valued.
• Strong communication and on-site, hands-on approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support and supervision for site construction activities
• Set out works and undertake quality checks against design drawings and specifications
• Monitor and manage subcontractor performance, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and program requirements
• Conduct daily site inspections and maintain accurate site records, diaries, and progress documentation
• Identify and elevate site risks, non-conformances, and design issues in a timely manner
• Coordinate with surveyors, subcontractors, and the broader project team to keep works on program
• Support compliance with rail safety standards (including track access and possession requirements) and environmental obligations
• Assist with as‑built documentation and close‑out records

About the Role

We're seeking a hands‑on Site Engineer to join the delivery team on a major station development project in Brisbane. Based on site, you'll provide day‑to‑day engineering support to ensure works are constructed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with design and specification.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support and supervision for site construction activities
• Set out works and undertake quality checks against design drawings and specifications
• Monitor and manage subcontractor performance, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and program requirements
• Conduct daily site inspections and maintain accurate site records, diaries, and progress documentation

About You

• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering (or related discipline)
• Experience in rail, transport, or major infrastructure construction, ideally within live/brownfield environments
• Working knowledge of setout, quality assurance processes, and construction methodology
• Understanding of rail safety requirements; RIW/rail safety accreditation highly regarded
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with subcontractors and site teams
• A proactive, safety‑first mindset and willingness to be on‑site and hands‑on
