Job summary

Stellar Recruitment AU and NZ – Canterbury region is seeking a Site Engineer to collaboratively work with Project Managers and Engineers to ensure safety, schedule, budget, quality, and environmental standards are met. The role involves travel across Canterbury and related sites, with a strong emphasis on on-site coordination and documentation.

Qualifications

• Must have current NZ Driver's Licence.
• Diploma in Engineering.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Physically fit for manual labour.
• Good verbal and written communication.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Actively participate in Daily Pre-Start Meetings.
• Ensure all documentation is completed, including Daily Logs.
• Work closely with fellow Site Engineers, Project Engineers and Project Managers to support quality on site.
• Inspection & Testing.
• Internal Project Auditing.
• Sub-contractor Performance Reporting.
• Preparing and managing the monthly claims for payment.
• Managing variations, forecast reporting, and preparing a monthly accrual sheet.
• Assist with surveying and site set out as per site drawings.
• Foster healthy working relationships, both internal and external.
• Liaise and coordinate subcontractors on assigned projects as required.
• Ensure all personnel have been inducted to site when required.

Overview

The purpose of the Site Engineer is to collaboratively work alongside Project Managers, Project Engineers and other Site Engineer's to ensure that Safety, time, cost, quality, and environmental aspects are planned and carried out to the required standard. Projects are across the wider canterbury region and will require travel from North to South Canterbury.

Role responsibilities
