Job summary

BuildRight Construction AU in Canberra (ACT) seeks a capable Site Engineer with genuine Australian site experience to join its expanding project team. You will demonstrate a strong technical understanding and take ownership of engineering and quality requirements throughout construction.

The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of structural concrete and civil infrastructure works, working with project managers, supervisors and major contractors on site.

Qualifications

• 2+ years Australian experience as Site Engineer on structural concrete or related civil infrastructure
• Civil Engineering degree or equivalent
• Understanding of construction QA systems and ITP-based delivery
• Ability to interpret structural drawings and specifications
• Understanding of site engineering processes and construction methods
• Strong written communication and documentation skills
• White Card and current driver's licence
• Ability to obtain ACT site inductions and project access
• Ability to work in active construction environments
• Proactive approach to identifying and resolving site issues
• Willingness to learn and progress toward senior engineering responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for engineering activities and technical coordination across assigned works
• Manage site quality requirements and ensure compliance with ITPs and project specifications
• Prepare and maintain inspection records, LOT docs, conformance and handover documentation
• Monitor hold points, witness points and quality inspections throughout delivery
• Identify and assist with closing non-conformances and technical issues
• Review structural drawings and construction documentation pre- and on-site
• Prepare RFIs and coordinate technical queries with stakeholders
• Support site teams with setting out, reinforcement inspections and concrete pour prep
• Monitor progress against programs and milestones
• Identify potential delays and communicate issues to management
• Coordinate materials, plant and consumables per project needs
• Attend site inspections and coordination meetings with clients and contractors
• Provide practical engineering guidance to supervisors and crews
• Assist reinforcement scheduling, procurement, fixings supervision and quality compliance
• Support WHS&E requirements on-site
• Maintain accurate project records and engineering documentation
• Collaborate with project management and teams for successful delivery
• Contribute to timely completion of works
