Job summary

Orica is seeking a Control Systems Engineer for its Kooragang Island manufacturing facility in New South Wales. The role is permanent, full-time and site-based, with a standard Monday-to-Friday schedule.

You will maintain and optimize OT systems, including DCS, PLC and Safety Instrumented Systems, deploying troubleshooting, lifecycle planning and system improvements within a collaborative, global mining and civil blasting context.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Process Control or Mechatronics Engineering.
Experience with industrial control systems in manufacturing or similar environments.
Knowledge of DCS, PLC, safety systems and process control strategies.

Responsibilities

Maintain and support site DCS, PLC and Safety Instrumented Systems for safe, reliable plant operation.
Troubleshoot control system issues and provide practical technical solutions to minimise disruption.
Manage system changes, upgrades and lifecycle requirements per Change Management processes.
Maintain OT documentation including control logic, system architecture, backups and restoration procedures.
Support historians, alarm management and other OT platforms.
Participate in HAZOP/CHAZOP/LOPA and control system improvement projects.
