Job summary

Downer is seeking a Contracts Administrator to join its Energy & Utilities Water portfolio on a site-based role. You will manage head contracts, subcontracts, notices, variations and payments, collaborating with delivery, procurement, finance and project controls to protect entitlements and deliver commercial outcomes.

The role offers exposure to complex contracts across critical infrastructure with career development opportunities and an integrated, supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in contract administration, commercial administration or a similar role within construction, infrastructure, engineering or utilities.
• Understanding of variations, claims, payment processes, contractual notices and subcontract administration.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to maintain accurate commercial records, registers and supporting documentation.
• Confident communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across commercial and operational project teams.
• A proactive approach to identifying contractual risks, meeting deadlines and escalating commercial issues when required.

Responsibilities

• Administer head contracts, subcontracts and supplier agreements, including contractual correspondence, notices and records.
• Prepare and coordinate variations, claims, extensions of time and payment claims within contractual requirements and timeframes.
• Maintain accurate change, delay, entitlement, procurement, subcontract and correspondence registers.
• Support subcontractor payment assessments, variations, claims, securities, insurances and contract compliance.
• Work closely with delivery, finance, procurement and project controls to support forecasting, reporting and effective commercial outcomes.
