Job summary

ACCIONA seeks a dedicated Project Engineer - Civil to support the Central-West Orana REZ transmission project. You will work within Energy Hubs and Substations teams on complex, large-scale civil works from foundations to commissioning.

You will build relationships with project personnel and external stakeholders, coordinate site activities, manage lookahead schedules, and ensure safety and quality are embedded in every task across multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
• Tier 1 Contractor experience on large-scale projects including foundations, piling, bulk earthworks.
• Preferable experience constructing outdoor air insulated substations and substations at 220kV or above.
• Experience working on mega-construction projects.
• Problem solving / analytical skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent attitude and awareness towards safety in the workplace.
• Knowledge and understanding of all applicable project policies and procedures.
• Demonstrated knowledge of contractual requirements and legislation relevant to the scope.

Responsibilities

• Develop relationships with project personnel and external stakeholders to maintain a collaborative working environment.
• Maintain strong attention to detail, organise records, and manage documentation.
• Effectively manage time to complete tasks within required timeframes.
• Attend and contribute to pre-start meetings, toolbox talks, and construction-related meetings.
• Conduct site walks with peers and supervision to monitor progress of works.
• Report and rectify downtime and non-conformances per project quality procedures.
• Monitor progress and financial performance against budget and targets; review and address issues.
• Ensure commercial deliverables are met for monthly reporting (progress claims, variations, subcontractor claims).
• Contribute to the site three-week lookahead and construction program; support risk management.
• Interface with engineering and construction teams to communicate critical tasks, schedules and equipment needs.
• Analyse equipment requirements and assist in procuring plant and equipment.
