Job summary

Thiess is seeking a Site Engineer for the Eva Copper Mine Project in the Cloncurry region of Queensland. You will report to the Project Engineer and design civil components for permanent and temporary works while collaborating with Senior Engineers to meet cost and schedule targets.

You will ensure safety and quality through regular inspections, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives, with a 2/1 roster and full on-site camp accommodations provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of experience in civil construction projects, preferably Tailings Storage Facility or mining.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; presentation abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design civil construction components for permanent and temporary works.
• Liaise with Senior Engineers and Civil Superintendent to improve processes and clarify design requirements.
• Ensure civil operations are executed efficiently and cost‑effectively.
• Report daily progress, non‑compliance, and delays to the Construction Manager.
• Conduct regular site inspections to assess compliance and identify improvements.
• Monitor hazards and assist with safety audits and quality control.
