Job summary

INTEC Energy Solutions GmbH is seeking a Site Engineer (Civil) for large-scale Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System projects based in Australia and New Zealand. You will supervise civil construction activities, review drawings, and coordinate with subcontractors on EPC sites.

The ideal candidate has a civil engineering degree, at least 5 years in civil construction for utility-scale projects, and fluent English. Travel internationally and strong safety culture are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in civil construction of utility-scale Solar PV, BESS, substations, or similar projects.
• Experience on EPC construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of earthworks, foundations, drainage, and concrete works.
• Ability to read and interpret civil drawings and specifications.
• Fluent English is required.
• Willingness to travel internationally.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all civil construction activities on utility-scale Solar PV and BESS project sites.
• Ensure works comply with drawings, specs, quality and HSE requirements.
• Review drawings, specifications, method statements, and procedures prior to execution.
• Monitor site grading, earthworks, road construction, drainage, foundations, cable trenches, and related civil infrastructure.
• Coordinate daily site activities with subcontractors, survey teams, consultants, client representatives and other project disciplines.
• Monitor progress, identify risks or delays, and implement corrective actions to maintain schedule.
• Verify quantities, review subcontractor progress, and assist progress reporting.
• Support inspections, QA/QC activities, ensuring ITP compliance.
• Resolve technical issues with engineering, construction and quality teams.
• Support project planning, site logistics, and interface management between civil, electrical and mechanical works.
• Maintain accurate as-built records and project handover documentation.
• Promote a strong safety culture in line with HSE requirements.

We are looking for a highly motivated and experiencedSite Engineer (Civil)to join our team on large-scaleSolar PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS)projects based inAustralia and New Zealand. The ideal candidate will have a strong background incivil construction and infrastructure works, includingsite grading, earthworks, road construction, drainage systems, foundations, equipment plinths, cable trenches, and structural concrete works, ideally with experience inutility-scale Solar PV, BESS, substations, or other large-scale infrastructure and energy projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all civil construction activities on utility-scale Solar PV and BESS project sites.
• Ensure civil works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards, and applicable HSE requirements.
• Review civil drawings, technical specifications, method statements, and construction procedures prior to execution.
• Monitor and supervise site grading, earthworks, road construction, drainage systems, foundations, equipment plinths, cable trenches, fencing, and associated civil infrastructure.
• Coordinate daily site activities with subcontractors, survey teams, consultants, client representatives, and other project disciplines.
• Monitor construction progress, identify risks or delays, and implement corrective actions to maintain the project schedule.
• Verify quantities, review subcontractor progress, and support preparation of progress reports.
• Participate in inspections, quality control activities, and ensure compliance with approved Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
• Resolve technical issues in coordination with engineering, construction, and quality teams.
• Support project planning, site logistics, and interface management between civil, electrical, and mechanical works.
• Ensure accurate as-built records and support project documentation and handover activities.
• Promote and maintain a strong safety culture in compliance with company and project HSE requirements.

Qualifications

• Proven experience working on EPC construction projects.

• Ability to read and interpret civil drawings, layouts, specifications, and construction documentation.
• Familiarity with international construction standards and quality control procedures.
• Experience coordinating subcontractors and multidisciplinary site teams.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Fluent English is required.
• Willingness to travel internationally and work on project sites.

Preferred Experience

• Experience on utility-scale Solar PV projects (50 MW+).
• Experience supporting Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects.
• Experience with international EPC contractors.
• Familiarity with Australian and/or New Zealand construction standards and regulations.
• Experience working in multicultural and multidisciplinary project environments.
