Job summary

Glencore Australia’s McArthur River Mine is seeking a Safety Advisor to join the Operational Safety team on a fixed-term basis through to March 2027. The role supports the Safety and Health Management System across open pit, processing plant, construction projects and Bing Bong port.

You will promote a positive safety culture and help drive continuous improvement with leaders and workgroups. The role requires WHS expertise, strong communication and the ability to influence stakeholders at all

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or higher qualification.
• Experience in a health and safety role within mining, construction, heavy industry or a similarly regulated environment.
• Strong understanding of work health and safety legislation and safety management systems.
• Proven ability to build positive working relationships and influence stakeholders across all levels of an organisation.
• Strong communication, facilitation and reporting skills.
• A proactive approach to safety, risk management and procedural compliance.
• Well-developed analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Passion for protecting the health, safety and wellbeing of others.

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain the site's Safety and Health Management System.
• Assist with incident reporting, investigations and corrective action tracking.
• Analyse safety performance data and prepare meaningful reports and insights.
• Conduct workplace safety observations, inspections and audits.
• Provide safety coaching, advice and support to leaders and employees.
• Facilitate safety presentations, training sessions and awareness initiatives.
• Maintain and improve safety documentation to ensure alignment with legislative and industry best practice requirements.
• Monitor compliance with Glencore Health and Safety standards and applicable legislation.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and contribute to site safety initiatives.
