Job summary

Aurum Contracting is seeking a full-time site-based HSE Advisor with a strong IT focus for an immediate FIFO contract near Mount Isa, QLD. The role involves safety inspections, audits and regular reporting in a remote site environment.

You will provide HSE guidance to the Project Management team, investigate incidents, and deliver toolbox talks while ensuring compliance with safety standards. 3 months minimum with 21/7 rosters and full site support.

Qualifications

• Must have Certificate IV in WHS and at least 4 years' site-based HSE experience.
• Strong focus on safety culture and communication skills.
• Proficient with MS Office and safety portals.
• Able to work FIFO in a remote Mount Isa region.
• Excellent report writing and English language skills.

Responsibilities

Job description

Aurum Contracting is a mid-size privately owned construction businessoperating in the renewable energy industry. We are seeking a full-time site based HSE Advisor with a strong IT focus for an immediate start in an FIFO contract role for three months minimum near Mount Isa QLD. Rosters are 21/7, with all flights, accommodation meal allowance and laptop/iPad provided, with the successful candidate supplying their own phone with phone allowance paid monthly.

Responsibilities:

• Complete site safety inspections and audits


• Perform weekly and monthly project reporting requirements.


• Provide HSE advice and guidance to the Project Management team


• Reporting nonconformance and implement corrective actions.


• Perform HSE incident investigation and reports.


• Attend client site safety meetings and pre starts


• Deliver training sessions e.g. toolbox talks, take five


• Upload reports or HSE information into the company and client portals

Essential Skills and Experience

• Must have a Minimum Certificate IV in WHS with at least 4 years' experience as a site based HSE Advisor


• Strong focus on safety and meeting safety expectations


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


• Highly proficient computer skills and experience in using Microsoft Office suite and other computer programs and safety portals


• Ability to quickly analyse information and problem solve


• Proficient in spelling, punctuation, grammar and other English language skills.


• Must be comfortable working in a small team for a privately owned company.


• Ability to complete tasks efficiently to high quality standards


• Ability to complete online and face to face client and company inductions


• Must be willing to undergo health screening and drug and alcohol testing


• Must have a smart phone


• Current Australian drivers license and construction white card essential


• Must be able to provide proof of right to work in Australia e.g. birth certificate or passport


• Current First Aid and CPR certificate
