Job summary

Sutherland Shire Singing in Sydney is seeking an experienced singing teacher to join our nurturing team for a long-term role. You will be part of a close-knit studio community and help grow our students’ voices through engaging, tailored lessons.

Teach across one-on-one, duo and group lessons from our Cronulla studio, with the option of additional days in Jannali. The role emphasizes vocal technique, student growth and a collaborative teaching environment.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of vocal teaching experience.
• Technically strong coach with deep understanding of vocal technique.
• Currently NSW Working With Children Check or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Teach one-on-one, duo and group vocal lessons from Cronulla studio and potentially in Jannali.
• Teach vocal technique to a wide range of ages and abilities, from kids to adults and from beginners to professionals.
• Plan lessons tailored to each student’s goals, level and learning style.
• Help singers build confidence, refine their technique and connect more deeply with their voice.

About us

For 10 years, Sutherland Shire Singing has offered high-quality vocal lessons in a nurturing, inclusive environment. We have studios in Cronulla and Jannali and a community of students ranging from young children to adults. Our teachers genuinely care about their students and are passionate about the voice.

We’re growing, and we’re looking for an experienced, passionate singing teacher to join us in a long-term role.

The role

• Teach one-on‑one, duo and group vocal lessons from our Cronulla studio, with the option of additional days in Jannali
• Teach vocal technique to a wide range of ages and abilities, from kids to adults and beginners to professionals
• Plan lessons tailored to each student’s goals, level and learning style
• Help singers build confidence, refine their technique and connect more deeply with their voice
• Communicate and grow with our teaching team

Hours and pay

• 6–18 hours per week, on Friday afternoons/evenings and Saturdays
• There’s also the option to take on additional days
• Contractor position (ABN required), paid at $40 - $50 per hour depending on experience

About you

• At least 3 years of vocal teaching experience
• A technically strong coach with a deep understanding of vocal technique
• Knowledge of vocal anatomy (a bonus)
• Piano or accompaniment skills (a bonus)
• A clear communicator who adapts easily to different learners
• Committed to your own ongoing learning and development
• Reliable and encouraging, and you love seeing students grow
• You want to be part of a team, not teaching in isolation
• Looking for a long‑term role
• Hold a current NSW Working With Children Check, or are willing to obtain one
