Job summary

Griffith University on the Gold Coast is seeking a Technical Officer - Simulation (Nursing and Midwifery) to support realistic learning experiences for students. This hands-on role focuses on preparing and maintaining clinical teaching laboratories and simulation spaces, ensuring equipment and consumables are ready for student learning.

Qualifications

• Relevant health qualification, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Experience providing clinical, laboratory, simulation or technical support, ideally in healthcare, tertiary education or clinical skills environments.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain safe, compliant learning environments, with strong knowledge of Work Health and Safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain clinical teaching laboratories and simulation environments for Nursing and Midwifery students.
• Provide technical support for practical classes and simulation-based learning activities.
• Manage equipment, consumables, stock control and procurement to ensure resources are safe, available and fit for purpose.
• Promote safe and compliant work practices, supporting Work Health and Safety requirements across learning spaces.
• Work collaboratively with academic and professional staff to deliver high-quality student learning experiences and continuous improvement initiatives.
