Job summary

Life Without Barriers is seeking a Permanent Part-Time Disability Support Worker in Chifley/Sydney to assist people with diverse needs within our Supported Independent Living (SIL) program. You will support daily living activities, mealtime needs, appointment help and health support, ensuring a safe, respectful environment.

You will work in a collaborative team, promoting dignity, choice and independence for clients while adhering to care plans and documentation requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting people with high physical support needs and complex care requirements.
• Previous experience in a Supported Independent Living (SIL) or group home is preferred.
• Manual handling and hoisting experience.
• Confidence driving a large wheelchair van.
• A current First Aid and CPR Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Follow person-centred support and behaviour plans.
• Provide support with daily personal activities.
• Maintain thorough record keeping.
• Build positive relationships with clients, families and colleagues.
• Advocate for client choice and control.
• Assist with peg feeding and catheter care, with training available.
