Top G Customs and Prints is seeking a skilled and creative Signwriters to join our team in Fyshwick, ACT. The successful candidate will design, manufacture, paint and install high-quality signs and graphics for vehicles, buildings, displays, hoardings, boats and other structures.

This is a full-time position suited to an experienced professional with strong technical skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage projects from initial client consultation through to final installation.

About the Role

Top G Customs and Prints is seeking a skilled and creative Signwriters to join our team in Fyshwick, ACT. The successful candidate will design, manufacture, paint and install high-quality signs and graphics for vehicles, buildings, displays, hoardings, boats and other structures.

This is a full-time position suited to an experienced professional with strong technical skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage projects from initial client consultation through to final installation.

Key Responsibilities

• Consult with clients and interpret proposals, sketches and written instructions to determine sign composition and design requirements.
• Design and create signs and graphics using computer software and sign-making machinery.
• Measure and calculate lettering sizes and prepare surfaces for sign production.
• Apply background paint using brushes, spray equipment and rollers.
• Create lettering and graphics using brushes, stencils, enamel paint, vinyl decals and other materials.
• Design and produce wall murals, screen prints, gold-leaf work and custom vehicle artwork.
• Paint signs and lettering using lacquers, varnishes, paints and other suitable materials.
• Produce signs on brick, metal, timber, glass, plastic and other surfaces.
• Fabricate and erect three-dimensional signs.
• Prepare accurate estimates for labour, materials and production requirements.
• Install signs safely and professionally at client locations.
• Erect and work from scaffolding where required.
• Operate and maintain sign-making tools, machinery and equipment.
• Ensure all work meets quality, workplace safety and client requirements.
• Comply with any applicable registration or licensing requirements.

Skills and Experience

The successful applicant will have:

• At least one year of relevant signwriting or sign-making experience.
• Relevant completed or ongoing studies in signwriting, graphic design, visual communication, printing or a related field.
• Experience using graphic design software and sign-making machinery.
• Practical skills in sign fabrication, painting, vinyl application and installation.
• Strong knowledge of colours, layouts, typography and surface preparation.
• Ability to interpret sketches, design briefs and technical instructions.
• Good measuring, estimating and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high‑quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Ability to work safely at heights and on scaffolding where required.
• Good communication and client‑service skills.
• A valid driver’s licence is desirable.
