The Department of Defence is seeking an Engineer to join the RAN Maritime Warfare Centre (MWC) to apply and develop engineering and analytical skills for analysing complex naval platform signatures and evaluating threat susceptibility. You will work with measurement facilities, ranges and data to identify vulnerabilities and inform decisions.

Fundamentally our team is dedicated to reducing the susceptibility of our fleet to modern threats through the collection and analysis platform signatures using a variety of measurement facilities (Ranges).
We don’t anticipate that you will start as a subject matter expert but we commit to supporting you develop and enhance your skills including training on naval systems, signature analysis and machine learning.

Work activities will often require the candidate to board Naval Platforms (from Dock or via Boat Transfer).
Periods of Travel typically vary from a few days up to two weeks, and can include Interstate and Regional Defence Sites to assist with MWC Support to Navy activities.

This is achieved through the delivery of highly effective warfare products that support both the Fleet Commander and the Head of Navy Capability in the context of risk based decision-making.

Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at “Negative Vetting Level 1”.
A role in this engineering occupation requires a Bachelor of Engineering from an Australian institution, or a qualification gained elsewhere, that satisfies the requirements of the Washington Accord for recognition as a Professional Engineer.
