The Electromagnetic Warfare Intelligence Systems, Joint and Air Systems Program Office (EWIS J&A SPO) is seeking a highly professional and motivated Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Officer to join the team. Working in the Intelligence and Air program, you will be part of a high performing sustainment team with a mixture of APS, ADF and Contractors in managing the logistics aspects for a specialised communications capability for Defence.

The role requires an individual who shows initiative and sound judgement, operates effectively under broad direction, and works in accordance with established priorities, principles, methodologies, and work practices. The successful candidate will collaborate effectively and contribute positively to team outcomes.

As the ILS Officer, the role is responsible for fleet management including managing inventory and ensuring availability of the fleet is maintained. This will include monitoring and reporting on inventory availability, liaising with team members to manage Report on Defective or Unsatisfactory Materials (RODUMS) and supporting forecasting and planning activities.

The duties of an APS6 ILS Officer occupation in Defence include the following:

• Accountable to lead a team, allocate work, resources and tasks; set work area priorities, develop strategies and evaluate business outcomes.
• Manage workflows and resources, prepare work area and team plans detailing measurable milestones and expected outcomes.
• Accountable for the development of materiel logistics strategies and plans for information, communications, quality and resources that support the objectives of a sustainment activity.
• Prepare, implement and maintain policy, processes and procedures to support the sustainment of equipment in accordance with Defence requirements.
• Review, analyse and report upon materiel logistics performance in sustainment.
• Understand and apply organisational processes and procedures for the management of integrated Logistics Support Instructions and materiel support plans.
• Build and sustain relationships with key stakeholders at the strategic and operational level.
• Communicate materiel logistics objectives through high level written documents and oral presentations for higher delegate consideration.
• Interpret and comply with legislative, policy and regulatory frameworks.

About our Team

The EWIS J&A SPO undertakes the acquisition and through-life-support of assigned Joint and Air Electronic Warfare (EW) Capabilities used by the Australian Defence Force. It delivers countermeasures development and validation services and supports a number of projects being delivered to the Intelligence and Security Group. The Intelligence and Air program delivers Electronic Warfare software and hardware that enables all domains to fight in the contested Electromagnetic Spectrum Environment.
