Job summary

Glencore is seeking an experienced Shotfirer for Rolleston Open Cut in Central Queensland. The role reports to the Blast & Mine Services Superintendent and focuses on safety, SHMS compliance, and leading a production team to meet KPIs.

You will contribute to continuous improvement, work within a strong safety culture, and support the mine’s long-term objectives with robust leadership and teamwork.

Qualifications

• QLD Shotfirer Licence is required.
• QLD Mining Supervisor S123 Competency required.
• Demonstrated leadership and proactive safety mindset.
• Strong communication and teamwork in a mining environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and health of all persons and equipment in and around the mining operation.
• Ensure compliance with the Safety and Health Management System (SHMS).
• Demonstrate visible leadership by guiding the mining team to achieve KPIs.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities and supervise an efficient production team.

Rolleston Open Cut is a 16Mtpa thermal coal mine located in the southern Bowen Basin in Central Queensland. With a long life of mine and low operating costs, the mine has a bright outlook. Since 2005, we have grown to become one of the largest surface mines in Australia, whilst continuing to foster a culture underpinned by safety, achievement, flexibility and teamwork to improve the skills of each and every person on the mine site every day. About the Role

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Shotfirer to join our dynamic and successful team. As a valued member of the Production team and reporting directly to the Blast & Mine Services Superintendent, you will be responsible for:

• The safety and health of all persons and equipment in and around the mining operation
• Ensure compliance with the Safety and Health Management System (SHMS)
• Demonstrate visible leadership by guiding the Mining team to achieve KPIs
• Display a strong commitment to identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities and supervision of an efficient production team

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Hold a QLD Shotfirer Licence (required)
• QLD Mining Supervisor S123 Competency
• Possess strong leadership capabilities
• Have a proactive attitude to safety and a strong work ethic
• Demonstrate flexibility and excellent teamwork in working with others in the business
• Exhibit strong communication skills
• Have strong drive to learn and grow in the role
