Job summary

Glencore Rolleston is seeking an experienced Assistant Shotfirer to join the Production team at Rolleston Open Cut. You will report to the Blasting Supervisor and oversee safety, health and compliance for blasting operations.

The role emphasizes adherence to SHMS, strong safety leadership, and contribution to a high-performing blast crew with opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• Explosives QLD Security Clearance is required.
• Valid QLD Drivers Licence is required.
• Current RIIBLA201 Competency is required.
• Current Standard 11 Generic Induction is required.
• Understanding of the Queensland Explosives Act and Regulations is required.
• Prev. experience is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety and health of personnel and equipment at the mine site.
• Ensure compliance with the Safety and Health Management System (SHMS).
• Demonstrate visible safety and integrity while following instructions from Blasting Supervisors and Shotfirers to achieve KPIs.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities and contribute to developing an efficient Blast crew.

Rolleston Open Cut is a 16Mtpa thermal coal mine located in the southern Bowen Basin in Central Queensland. With a long life of mine and low operating costs, the mine has a bright outlook. About the Role

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Assistant Shotfirer to join our dynamic and successful team. As a valued member of the Production team and reporting directly to the Blasting Supervisor, you will be responsible for:

• The safety and health of all persons and equipment in and around the mining operation.
• Ensure compliance with the Safety and Health Management System (SHMS).
• Demonstrate visible safety and integrity by adhering to instructions issued by the Blasting Supervisors and Shotfirers to achieve KPIs.
• Display a strong commitment to identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities and contribute to the ongoing development of an efficient Blast crew.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Explosives QLD Security Clearance.
• Valid QLD Drivers Licence.
• Current RIIBLA201 Competency.
• Current Standard 11 Generic Induction.
• Understanding of the current QLD Explosives Act and Regulations.
• Previous experience is considered an advantage but not required.
• Proactive attitude to safety.
• Exhibit strong communication skills, & Embrace company values and contribute to a safe and efficient work culture.
