Job summary

Redpath Mining Australia is seeking an experienced Shift Supervisor to lead underground operations, plan shift priorities, and ensure alignment with mine plans and SWIs. You’ll manage crews, maintain safety standards, and support ongoing training and development.

This full-time role offers a stable roster, opportunities for progression, and access to FIFO from Brisbane, Townsville, and Cairns, with competitive pay and superannuation options.

Qualifications

• Underground Shift Supervisors must hold Communicate workplace information certificates (S1/S2/S3).
• G1 Safety Induction for Metalliferous Core & Underground.
• Underground hardrock mining experience and relevant tickets/licences.
• Strong work ethic aligned with Redpath motto: Consider it done — safely.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prioritise shift activities with site leadership, ensuring resources and areas are allocated effectively.
• Direct and supervise underground personnel following mine plans, SWIs, and requirements.
• Promote a safety-first culture and lead by example in health, safety and environment.
• Maintain shift reports and timesheets; liaise with stakeholders on progress and risks.
• Lead or support incident investigations; identify root causes and implement corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prioritise shift activities in collaboration with site leadership, ensuring resources, equipment, and work areas are effectively allocated.
• Direct and supervise underground personnel, ensuring work is completed in line with mine plans, SWIs, and operational requirements.
• Promote and uphold a strong safety culture by embedding quality, environmental, and health standards into all activities and leading by example.
• Maintain accurate shift reports and timesheets, and liaise with key stakeholders on operational progress, risks, and workplace issues.
• Lead or assist in incident investigations, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence while reinforcing a positive, safety-first work ethic.

• Underground Shift Supervisors – must hold Communicate workplace information certificates (formerly S1, S2 & S3)
• Current G1 Safety Induction - Metalliferous Core & Underground
• Underground hardrock miningexperience & appropriate tickets/licences in the relevant position they are applying for
