Job summary

Global Advanced Metals on Australia's West Coast operates the nation's only tantalum processing plant, seeking a Shift Supervisor to lead a small but capable Processing team. You will oversee production targets, safety, and continuous improvement while hands-on plant duties accompany supervision.

Responsibilities

Job description

This is a permanent, full-time position, working an attractive roster (7:7 Roster (days and nights)).

We are committed to the responsible supply of Tantalite in all its forms and operate to high standards of sustainable supply and development. We also manufacture Tin metal.

Our Tantalite operations are vertically integrated from the processing of ore into concentrates, through to the manufacturing of Tantalite powder and metallurgical products for use in electronic components such as capacitors and semiconductors, additive manufacturing applications such as medical implants, and for other critical applications including aerospace and defence industries.

Our high quality Tantalite products enable more powerful electronic devices, greater safety and reliability in automobiles and greater fuel efficiency and longevity of aircraft engines.

An opportunity exists to join the Australia's only Tantalum processing plant as a Shift Supervisor.

The successful applicant will apply strong leadership and teamwork skills, supported by on-the-job training and guidance from an experienced team.

The primary responsibilities of a Shift Supervisor include:

• building and maintaining an inclusive culture that prioritises workplace safety and operational discipline;
• leading the Processing team to meet production targets, optimise plant performance, minimise costs, and drive continuous process improvements;
• supervising and coordinating labour, crew allocation, and work with the training team to ensure training requirements across shift operations are met.
• completing workplace inspections, audits, and incident investigations in line with site safety systems.
• maintaining compliance with Western Australian mining regulations and site-specific safety management systems;
• monitoring plant conditions and responding to process interruptions to determine corrective actions.

Due to the small team size this is a hands on role requiring some plant operation in conjunction with the supervision duties.

About the Candidate
