Job summary

Tassal Group is seeking an experienced Shift Manager for our Tasmanian processing operations. You will lead from the front, coach and develop your team, and drive continuous improvement to meet safety, quality and production targets on a fast-paced site.

Reporting to the Production Manager, you will coordinate day-to-day shift activities, manage labour and collaborate with maintenance, quality and supply chain teams to ensure smooth handovers and reliable performance.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity and waste reduction.
• Conduct effective shift handovers and ensure clear communication across teams.

We're looking for an experienced people leader to join our processing operations team as a Shift Manager. If you enjoy leading from the front, building high-performing teams and finding practical solutions in a fast-paced production environment, this could be the opportunity for you.

Reporting to the Production Manager, you'll be responsible for coordinating day-to-day shift operations, ensuring production targets are achieved while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality and team performance. You'll play a key role in coaching and developing your team, driving continuous improvement and creating a positive workplace culture where people can succeed.

What You'll Be Doing

About You

To be successful in this role, you'll bring:

• Previous leadership experience within a manufacturing, production, processing or operational environment
• A proven ability to lead, motivate and engage teams in a fast-paced workplace
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
• Experience managing competing priorities and making sound decisions under pressure
• A solid understanding of workplace health and safety requirements
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Experience with production reporting, workforce planning and operational systems

Experience within food manufacturing, seafood processing, aquaculture or a similar production environment will be highly regarded, along with exposure to continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma.
