Job summary

Tassal is seeking an experienced Shift Manager to lead the processing operations shift in Tasmania. You will drive safety, coach a high-performing team and ensure production targets are achieved with high quality and efficiency.

You will coordinate day-to-day shift activities, manage labour and resources, and collaborate with Maintenance, Quality and Supply Chain to minimise downtime while promoting continuous improvement and a positive workplace culture.

Qualifications

• Experience leading teams in manufacturing/production environments.
• Strong safety awareness and culture.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and make sound decisions under pressure.
• Experience with production reporting and workforce planning.
• Exposure to Lean/Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and promote a strong safety culture across your shift.
• Coordinate daily production activities to meet targets and customer requirements.
• Monitor performance and respond to issues affecting safety, quality, productivity or delivery.
• Manage labour allocation and resources to maximise efficiency.
• Coach, support and develop team members to build capability and performance.
• Manage attendance, performance and employee relations matters.
• Work with Maintenance, Quality, Supply Chain and other teams to minimise downtime.
• Maintain accurate production and operational records.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives for safety, quality, productivity and waste reduction.
• Conduct effective shift handovers and ensure clear communication across teams.
