Job summary

Asahi Beverages Group in Melbourne’s Laverton site is seeking a proactive Shift Manager to lead and coordinate day-to-day site operations across brewing and packaging during a 24/9 manufacturing setup.

You will guide teams on the floor, make real-time operational decisions, and uphold safety, quality and performance targets while collaborating with Packaging, Brewing, Maintenance, Quality and Supply Chain functions.

We are seeking a proactive and people-focused Shift Manager to join our Laverton site. This role is responsible for leading and coordinating site operations across brewing and packaging during a 24/9 manufacturing operation, ensuring safety, quality, service, and operational performance targets are achieved.As a Shift Manager, you will play a critical role in supporting teams across site, making real-time operational decisions, and driving a safe, high-performing culture.

About the Role

• Lead day-to-day manufacturing operations across the site during your shift.
• Provide leadership and support to operational teams, ensuring safe and effective execution of production plans.
• Act as the primary escalation point for operational, safety, quality, and maintenance issues.
• Coordinate site activities and work closely with Packaging, Brewing, Maintenance, Quality and Supply Chain teams.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and identify opportunities to enhance site performance.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, GMP and operational procedures.
• Drive accountability and operational decision-making during shift operations.
• Support maintenance, changeovers, breakdown management and production continuity activities.

About You

You are a strong operational leader who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and can confidently manage competing priorities.

• Experience leading teams within FMCG, manufacturing, beverage, food or related industries.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making capability.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• A genuine commitment to safety and quality.
• Experience managing operational issues in a production environment.
• The ability to influence and support teams without micromanaging.
• Exposure to SAP or similar production systems is advantageous.
• Beverage, brewing or continuous manufacturing experience will be highly regarded.

Working Pattern

• Rotating 12-hour shifts.
• 24/7 manufacturing environment.
• Strong operational presence, with the majority of time spent supporting teams on the floor.
