Job summary

BlueScope Distribution Pty in Port Kembla seeks a Shift Electrician within the Springhill Maintenance team. The role supports a 4:4 12-hour, 24x7 rotating roster across days and nights, Monday to Sunday, in a heavy industrial setting.

You will apply your expertise in industrial electrical systems, PLCs and drives, conducting safe isolation, emergency repairs, fault finding and structured maintenance to ensure quality, reliability and safety for colleagues and the wider operation.

Qualifications

• Current NSW Electrical License.
• Experience in a heavy industrial/manufacturing environment.
• Proficient with PLCs and drives.
• Strong commitment to safety.
• Experience in fault finding and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Follow safe system of work; develop isolation instructions and JSA for required work.
• Perform safe, efficient and effective emergency repairs.
• Fault-find on electrical equipment including PLCs and drive systems.
• Fault-find on steel processing equipment and cranes.
• Perform equipment inspections, maintenance and report findings.

The Opportunity

Our Port Kembla Manufacturing facility is looking for aShift Electrician in ourSpringhill Maintenanceteam based inPort Kembla. As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers.

You will join a cross-functional team that ensures equipment is maintained to the highest standards to meet our objectives for quality and reliability. In this critical role, you will be able to use your technical background and experience to deliver key outcomes, whilst ensuring your safety and that of your colleagues are a priority.

This is a shift position working on a 4:4 12-hour 24 x 7 rotating roster, consisting of rotating days and night shifts, Monday through to Sunday.

What will you do?

With your proven understanding of industrial electrical systems, in this role you will:

• follow the safe system of work and develop isolation instructions and job safety analysis for the required work
• perform safe, efficient and effective emergency repairs
• fault-find on electrical equipment including PLC’s and drive systems
• fault find on steel processing equipment and cranes
• perform equipment inspections, maintenance, identify improvement opportunities and report on findings
