Job summary

BlueScope Steel Limited in Port Kembla is seeking a Shift Electrician to join the Springhill Maintenance team on a 4:4 12-hour 24x7 rotating roster. You will contribute to maintaining electrical systems and reliability across our steel processing operations.

You will work with PLCs and drive systems, perform fault finding, and ensure equipment is serviced safely and efficiently. A NSW Electrical License and heavy industrial experience are preferred, with a strong safety mindset.

Qualifications

• Current NSW Electrical License.
• Experience in heavy industrial/manufacturing environment.
• Proficient with PLCs and drives.
• Strong commitment to safety.
• Experience in fault finding and problem solving.
• Initiative in carrying out equipment repairs.

Responsibilities

• Follow safe systems of work, develop isolation instructions and JSA for required work.
• Perform safe, efficient and effective emergency repairs.
• Fault-find electrical equipment including PLCs and drive systems.
• Fault-find on steel processing equipment and cranes.
• Perform equipment inspections, maintenance, identify improvement opportunities and report findings.

The Opportunity

Our Port Kembla Manufacturing facility is looking for aShift Electrician in ourSpringhill Maintenanceteam based inPort Kembla. As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers.

You will join a cross-functional team that ensures equipment is maintained to the highest standards to meet our objectives for quality and reliability. In this critical role, you will be able to use your technical background and experience to deliver key outcomes, whilst ensuring your safety and that of your colleagues are a priority.

This is a shift position working on a 4:4 12-hour 24 x 7 rotating roster, consisting of rotating days and night shifts, Monday through to Sunday.

What will you do?

With your proven understanding of industrial electrical systems, in this role you will:

• follow the safe system of work and develop isolation instructions and job safety analysis for the required work
• perform safe, efficient and effective emergency repairs
• fault-find on electrical equipment including PLC’s and drive systems
• fault find on steel processing equipment and cranes
• perform equipment inspections, maintenance, identify improvement opportunities and report on findings
