Job summary

BlueScope's Western Sydney Service Centre in Erskine Park is seeking an Electrical Operator/Maintainer to join the Electrical Maintenance team. The role involves operating machinery, troubleshooting, plant setups and isolations on our new paint line producing COLORBOND products.

We welcome both experienced industrial electricians and those from commercial backgrounds who want to build expertise in industrial automation.

Qualifications

• Electrical trade qualification and NSW Electrical Licence.

Responsibilities

The Opportunity

Our Western Sydney Service Centre is looking for anElectrical Operator/Maintainer in ourElectrical Maintenanceteam based inErskine Park. As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers.

This position is working at BlueScope’s newest paint line, featuring modern equipment and automated process’ throughout the facility which produce our premium COLORBOND® products. In this dynamic role, you will work closely with our operations and maintenance teams performing a variety of tasks throughout shift, including operating machinery, equipment troubleshooting, plant setups and isolations.

This opportunity welcomes both experienced industrial electricians and electricians from commercial or residential backgrounds who are looking to build their experience in industrial automation and control systems. Comprehensive training and development can be provided to the right candidate.

This position works a 12-hour rotating day and night shift, 5 days a week.

What Will You Do?

Demonstrating your technical capability, you’ll actively participate in providing continuous improvement and outstanding services within the Western Sydney Service Centre. You will also:

• operate machinery and production equipment safely to maintain continuous line performance
• successfully contribute to a safe working environment
• conduct equipment and process inspections, identifying issues and equipment not performing to standard
• provide technical support and problem-solving insight to ensure the continuous functionality and reliability of equipment
• conduct fault finding on PLC, Drives, Data Network, HMI, and Instrumentation Systems
• work collaboratively with cross functional teams to improve the efficiency of equipment
• ensure our quality products meet customers’ expectations and requirements

• electrical trade qualifications and a current NSW Electrical License
• a commitment to your own safety and wellbeing and care for others
• demonstrated experience with technical equipment (PLC, Drives, HMI, Networks) - fault-finding, determining root cause and recommending corrective measures
• experience working in a similar environment in industrial manufacturing
• the ability to prioritise work and resolve problems effectively and efficiently
• the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
