Job summary

GenusPlus Group is seeking an experienced SHEQ Advisor to lead safety, health, environment and quality on a major Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Victoria. This site-based role operates on a 2/1 roster, with preference for Victoria residents and Brisbane candidates.

You will oversee environmental controls and quality assurance while building a culture of ownership for safe, high-quality work across construction, commissioning and handover.

Qualifications

• Experience as a SHEQ Advisor or senior SHEQ on construction/energy projects.
• Strong working knowledge of WHS legislation and environmental obligations.
• Experience developing and implementing SHEQ plans, audits, and assurance processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the project’s SHEQ function through construction, commissioning and handover.
• Implement and supervise safety, health, environmental and quality plans.
• Identify risks and establish effective controls with site teams.
• Conduct site inspections, audits and assurance activities, closing actions.
• Oversee incident reporting, investigations and corrective actions.
• Support environmental management and monitoring of site controls.
• Oversee quality assurance processes, records and non-conformance.
• Collaborate with subcontractors to meet SHEQ requirements.
• Provide SHEQ reporting and identify improvement opportunities.
• Promote a culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement.
