Job summary

Newlands Industries Pty Ltd in Melbourne is seeking a Sheetmetal Worker to fabricate roller shutter components. The role involves marking, cutting, forming and assembling sheetmetal parts, reading technical drawings, and maintaining quality standards in a busy manufacturing environment.

You will join a hands-on team at our Coburg North facility, working full-time with Australian materials and a focus on safety and efficiency. Completion of a Certificate III is required.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of relevant work experience.
• Certificate III in a relevant field.
• Hands-on skills in marking, cutting, forming and assembling sheetmetal products.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Physical fitness suitable for factory work and a strong commitment to quality and safety.
• Right to work in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Study and interpret drawings, blueprints and work orders to determine requirements.
• Select sheetmetal stock and verify sizes and dimensions.
• Mark out metal stock using templates, gauges and measuring tools.
• Cut sheetmetal using hand/power tools to produce components.
• Join and assemble components by welding, riveting or bolting.
• Inspect finished components for accuracy and quality against standards.
• Operate and maintain sheetmetal fabrication machinery and tools.
• Collaborate with the team to meet production targets and safety standards.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and record production activities.
