Job summary

Spicers Australia currently seeks a Sheeter Machine Operator at our Dingley site, specialising in Food Packaging. This day shift role runs 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, 40 hours per week, on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Team Leader, you will operate the sheeting machinery, meet quality standards and prepare despatch-ready packs.

You will gain development and training opportunities, including guillotine machine training, with favourable EBA conditions and a supportive, community-focused culture.

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating sheeting machinery or similar equipment.
• Interest in guillotine machine training to support production.
• Desirable prior work in the print industry.
• Knowledge of routine machine maintenance and repair.
• Eligible to work in Australia without visa constraints.

Responsibilities

• Produce a quality product conforming to current quality control standards.
• Pack finished product to specified standards ready for despatch.
• Cut reels of paper into specified smaller sizes.
• Set up machine according to job specifications.
• Identify and resolve mechanical or product issues.

Job description

Spicers is a national Company with offices and warehouses in every state and territory in Australia.We are a leading provider of products and services to the print, design and advertising industries. Our range is targeted to various print segments and includes fine paper, Visual Communication materials, synthetics, self-adhesives, packaging grades and a number of other substrates.

We currently have a role for a Sheeter Machine Operator based at our Dingley site, which specialises in Food Packaging.

This day shift role will work from 6am-2.30pm and is a permanent position, working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Hourly rate payable is $35.82 and all conditions are in accordance with the site Enterprise Agreement.

About this Position

Reporting to the Team Leader the main duties will include:

• Production of a quality product conforming to current quality control standards
• Pack finished product to specified standards ready for despatch
• Cutting reels of paper into specified smaller sizes
• Set up machine according to job specifications
• Identify and resolve mechanical or product issues

To succeed in this role you will need:

• Prior sheeting machine, or similar machine operation experience
• Interest in guillotine machine training
• Prior experience in the print industry would be highly desirable
• Demonstrable knowledge of machine maintenance and repair
• Right to Work in Australia (essential).
