Job summary

CBS Printing in Sydney is seeking an experienced operator to set up and monitor DGM and ROLAM glue line machines for meal sleeves and crash lock cartons, ensuring quality and efficiency. The role requires attention to detail, ability to read specifications, and a readiness to start at 6:00am.

You will carry out changeovers, adjust settings, perform quality checks, and maintain records while supporting a safe and productive shift with potential visa sponsorship for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• Experience operating folder-gluer or carton gluing equipment (DGM, ROLAM, or similar)
• Ability to read production specifications and quality standards
• Able to read carton/sleeve formats, especially crash lock and meal sleeve constructions
• Able to stand for extended periods and perform manual handling
• Available for an early start (6:00am)

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate DGM and ROLAM glue lines for meal sleeve and crash lock carton runs
• Carry out changeovers between products/formats, including glue head, guide, and tooling adjustments
• Monitor glue application, fold accuracy, and carton squareness throughout the run
• Adjust machine settings (speed, glue pattern, pressure, registration) to maintain quality and minimise waste
• Carry out first-off and in-process quality checks against specification (glue coverage, seal strength, carton dimensions, print registration)
• Identify and remove defective product; record and report quality issues
• Complete quality check sheets and production records accurately
• Perform routine operator maintenance and cleaning (glue pots, nozzles, feed sections) per schedule
• Identify and resolve minor faults/jams; escalate mechanical or electrical issues to engineering promptly
• Meet production targets for speed, output, and waste within shift

About the role

About you

• Previous experience operating folder-gluer or carton gluing equipment (DGM, ROLAM, or similar glue line machinery)
• Understanding of carton/sleeve formats, particularly crash lock and meal sleeve constructions
• Ability to read and work to production specifications and quality standards
• Good manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude for setup and minor troubleshooting
• Numerate and able to complete production records accurately
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work around moving machinery
• Manual handling of carton stock and finished product (lifting, carrying to site guidelines)
• Available for an early start (6:00am)
